L'issartou is situated between the hamlet of LA MALRIC and the village of LENTIN. Nearest local shops are at LEDERGUES, 3km away where you will find bakers, general store, chemists, post office and a friendly bar/restaurant

Every Sunday morning there is a village market where you can find fresh locally grown produce, ie: vegetables, cheese, meat and wine



Carmaux is 20-30 min drive, there is a large market every Friday morning. The town has several varied restaurants to cater for all the families' taste buds

Cap decouverte, a large outdoor sports area with a dry ski slope, rollerblading, waterskiing and many other activities

The city of Albi is 30 mins drive, beautifully set on the banks of the river Tarn, it boasts a magnificent cathedral and the famous Toulouse Lautrec museum, also many superb restaurants. You can explore the town through its winding cobbled streets and unique nooks and crannies

The medieval bastide village of Cordes-sur-Ciel is worth a visit. Beautifully perched on a hilltop with 360 degree views, bustling with craft shops, boutiques and cafes. Leaving Cordes-sur-Ciel you can take a scenic drive through the Gaillac vineyards, perhaps stopping to sample the excellent world famous local wine

Lac de Pareloup , the large sandy man-made lake, approx 45 mins drive is perfect for swimming and sun-bathing, with a games area and boat hire as well as a shop which sells drinks, snacks and ice cream

There are several golf courses in the area, Rodez, Albi and Castres

Fishing is a popular pastime in this area of France, with idyllic quiet lakes and gently flowing rivers (licenses can be obtained from most tabacs)


The area features outstanding beauty, with a variation of walks that cater for all ages with quiet roads suited for both the cyclist enthusiast or the take-it-easy meandering family rides! Abundance of beauty with fields of wild flowers and exotic butterflies, if your really lucky you might spot a family of wild boar basking in the midday sun or the rather exquisite blue headed lizards!
